LaGrecaI have been in private practice in New York City for over 10 years, providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups. My practice tends to revolve around issues with depression and anxiety, as well as interpersonal and relationship issues.

I try to bring awareness and compassion to my work with people.  By creating an accepting, but challenging, atmosphere I try to assist others in bringing their thoughts and feelings, the stories they tell themselves about those thoughts and feelings, and the manifestations of this in the body, all into the present where we can work on them together.  In this relationship of acceptance and shared work, transformation can occur.

I have pursued my interest Buddhist psychology and thought for over 20 years and have a daily meditation practice. My meditation practice is important in building and maintaining my own awareness and is important in fostering what some, such as John Welwood, have referred to as “presence” which is inside of all of us and from which all healing flows.  I currently study with Dr. Reggie Ray.

I received quite an ecumenical education, obtaining my B.A. from Regis College, a Jesuit university located in Denver, Colorado, and a Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York.  During and after graduate school, I was affiliated with the Fifth Avenue Center for Counseling and Psychotherapy, where I received additional psychoanalytic training.

I do not take any insurance. However, if you have out-of-pocket benefits, you may be reimbursed for my services. My office is located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.
