William SlaughterEach of us is absolutely unique, with some relationship to broad human themes in growth. I provide caring listening, allowing deep and holistic understanding. Working with imaginal and conscious parts of ourselves can be core aspects of change.

My experience helping is with people from several cultures across the life span: individually, with various constellations of intimate partners/family, groups and organizations. Focuses have included life/livelihood paths/”coaching”; anxiety, attention, mood, psychosis; identity, sexuality, culture; relationships, substance use, trauma; many other transitions.

Though often the issue does not come up at all, sometimes people are interested in seeing if medications can help in a given situation. Other times people want to avoid exactly this. I do my best to support whatever approach an individual wants.

I’ve trained at various times since the 1980s at the Boston Jung Institute (MA), Harvard/Cambridge (psychiatry, humanistic/psychodynamic therapy fellowship, MA), Naropa Institute (buddhist psychology/contemplative psychotherapy, CO), the Seattle Indian Health clinic and University of Washington (allopathic/Western medicine, WA).

I can sometimes meet briefly with people who are interviewing potential helpers. I work mostly in MA and occasionally in the Seattle area.
