Sometimes
we all need extra help and support to deal with the challenges of
being human and being in relationships. Contemplative psychotherapy
can be beneficial for just about any of life's circumstances. It
is especially useful in working with depression, anxiety, grief
and transition. I have been trained in understanding how the mind
and behavior can shape one's life either negatively or positively.
I help people see through their confusion and obstacles and to make
positive changes in their life.
My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and active. I employ several
techniques depending on my client's needs. The approach I take blends
classical psychology, Jungian, and Eastern awareness practices.
Therapy can last a few weeks to several years, depending on what
issues my clients are addressing. Treatment and goals of therapy
are individualized. I work with my clients to find what works best
for them.
Contemplative psychotherapy is about delving deeper into our understanding
of our experience. Through utilizing my skills of compassionate
presence and mindfulness awareness of body, mind, and speech I help
my clients work through obstacles. My goal is to help others gain
awareness and insight into patterns that are not helpful or healthy.
With this insight, clients become more self-empowered and are able
to make positive changes in their lives.
I offer individual counseling in Fort Collins and Boulder.
