Monica KingsburyThe heart of my work is assisting people in the resolution of trauma, attachments and losses; including relationship losses. The sudden end of a relationship can be traumatic, creating, shock, confusion, and profound feelings of hurt. Early childhood losses often make the current situation more painful.

With mindful attention to these experiences, we begin healing our tender hearts. Awareness of breath, sensations, feelings and beliefs help us navigate through the storms of uncertainty, while keeping our hearts open in the face of pain.

I use an Integrative Therapeutic approach, drawing from experience and training in Buddhist Psychology, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Somatic Transformation. I am a member of the Mindfulness Community of Victoria, a Sangha practicing in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh - I draw on the contemplative practices of yoga and meditation in my therapeutic work.

As nature is inherent to healing and well being, my home based studio provides a nurturing setting with natural light and surrounded by gardens and old growth trees.

My areas of practice: Anxiety/Panic, Loss/Grief, Trauma Recovery, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute/Chronic Stress and Life Transitions.
